Doesn't last at all: The protection from hand sanitizers doesn't last at all. It kills viruses and bacteria on the hands when applies. As soon as your hands have dried, if you contact an infected person or a contaminated surface, there is no prevention. In other words, hand sanitizers protect against exposure prior to their use, but not afterward.
