Would you advise that adults over 60 be given prevenar 13. given current situation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Good idea!: In the US, doctors routinely give to people 65 and older: 1 dose of PCV13 first then give 1 dose of PPSV23 at least 1 year later. PCV13 (Prevnar) is approved for use in normal adults age 50 and above, to help prevent pneumococcal pneumonia due to the 13 strains of protection in the vaccine. Note that Prevnar is given to all babies too.
