Are there any long term consequences of being strangled? i was in a fight a couple years back and couldn't move my neck for a couple of days. recovered after a week. neck feels okay now, just sore sometimes.

Strangulation: An MRI of neck and cervical spine would demonstrate if there was any additional damage. In severe strangulation you can damage the trachea ( windpipes) there are about 50 small muscles in the neck area and bones like hyoid bone that could be damaged ,as well as vessels like the carotids. There also could be damage to ligaments of spine , f/u /w /MD
