Fever blisters?: Fever blisters of HSV-1 are recurrences, and happen in places at or near the original infection. An original infection tends to happen in childhood, and causes sores on the lips and gums, plus sometimes the nostrils and facial areas near the nose and mouth. The recurrences will happen on some of those original areas, usually on the lips and sometimes at the nostrils. One's doctor can examine.
