Coronavirus.: This means a new virus that we haven't dealt with before. In 2003, SARS-CoV was novel and was the cause of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. That died out. However, SARS-CoV-2 arose in 2019 & is the cause of COVID 19. It is now a new /novel virus. Our immune systems are naive to these novel viruses.

If mild, like a cold: SARS CoV-2 which is the new coronavirus that causes CoVID-19 does not have a specific treatment. In most people it causes mild symptoms just like a common cold and you should treat the symptoms that you have. In general, getting rest, drinking plenty of liquids and taking Acetaminophen/Tylenol/paracetamol for body aches and fevers. Isolate from others and go to hospital for trouble breathing.
