Organ failure: People who are over age 65 years old with particular pre-existing conditions are at risk for more severe illness with organ or multi-organ failure. When oxygen levels drop to the point that organs are not getting adequate oxygen and there is major inflammation - it sets up the body for potential down-ward spiral.
