If 40-70% of the population will be infected with covid-19 eventually, is there any point in trying to evade it? wouldn't i be better off to get it early and build immunity?

Things to consider: There are some people who have multiple risk factors for having a worse disease outcome. There are others who have died or become extremely ill with none of the currently recognized risk factors. I would rather receive a vaccine that is effective than play Russian Roulette.
