Zinc and COVID-19: There is no evidence zinc would reduce the chance of infection with the COVID-19 coronavirus. It's not a crazy idea: the latest evidence is that zinc helps reduce the duration of common cold by 1-2 days, and some colds are caused by coronavirus (different type than COVID-19). But there is no evidence zinc helps PREVENT colds before they happen, and probably no help in preventing COVID-19.
