Some basics: The pneumovax vaccine is available for international use. It is unknown whether this is included as part of the state run health system in China. It only provides a level of boosted protection against the strains of the pneumococcal germs included in the vaccine, not pneumonia as a general diagnosis.

COVID 19: I don't know if the pneumonia vaccine is used in China (but I would suspect it is). The pneumonia vaccine helps to prevent pneumococcal pneumonia - not COVID pneumonia. But it could help to prevent a secondary bacterial pneumonia in someone with COVID 19.

There are several pneumonia vaccines available for older adults and children. None of these would protect against COVID-19 or a pneumonia directly caused by the virus.
