Spotting on bcp's ?: Low dose oral contraceptives need to be taken punctually (within the same hour that the prior day's active pill was taken), or "spotting" can occur due to hormone withdrawal. Stop the pill now, wait five days, and start another (new) pack, but be careful to take them as described. There are other causes of light bleeding (polyps, fibroids, etc.) which are independent of oral bcp control.
