Hi dr. my 5 year old had mumps. he started with the swelling on saturday, 29 feb as he woke up. since this past friday (6 march) he has red eyes. every google search suggests i contact a doctor if red eyes. please advise what this means? many thanks.

Eye: Mumps can cause dacrocystitis. This is an infection of your tear duct that drains into nose. Adenovirus can do this too. This usually resolves without th issue. Mumps virus affects ovaries and testicles on long term basis.
