Can covid-19 virus survive on surfaces such as mail, packages, paper receipts, money, etc.? most reports i've read say no, but one now claims experts are advising against using paper money. am confused!

Low risk, not zero: All coronaviruses so far, and probably SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19, are very sensitive to drying and probably would not survive long on paper currency, coins, mail, etc. However, money changes hands rapidly: if contaminated by the person making change for you, maybe there would be a risk. Hand washing, hand sanitizer, and avoidance of face touching will keep you safe.
