A member asked:

I have some swollen lymph nodes under my arm - in my armpit, and i read that it could be due to the deodorant that i use. i just wanted to see if this was something i needed to get checked out, or if it was normal. swollen lymph nodes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can examine: Lumps in the armpit of an adult can be due to ingrown hairs or blocked oil (sebaceous) glands. Occasionally, they are blocked pores, filling up with dead skin cells. If a lump hurts, it may be infected and would need antibiotics or be opened by a doctor, depending on how it looks. Lumps deeper in the armpit may be enlarged lymph nodes, which can be infection of some kind, or more rarely cancer.
