I have been bitten by either a spider or a tick and have got an infection around the bite area which has caused muscle aches, swollem lymph nodes, fevers and chills - i have medication for this but have not improved immensely?

Infection: I would suggest seeing a physician right away. From your description, there is a skin infection which probably started as an insect bite. It is important to seek medical attention. Place a thin layer of topical antibiotic ointment on the wound three times daily and keep the area clean. Urgent care is another option if your PCP is not available.
