Several: Otc treatments could include, calamine and domboro solution to dry the lesions if they are weepy. Oral antihistamines (benadryl) for itching. Baking soday baths for itching. Calamine with a bit of menthol in it to help with itching. Aveno baths for itching. Otc 1% Hydrocortisone cream to help with itching. Perhaps some ice compresses to help with intense itching. Hydrocortisone: The best way to treat this contact dermatitis is to avoid the allergen or irritant that caused the reaction. Oral antihistamines like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can relieve itching. Otc topical steroids like Hydrocortisone cream will help treat the dermatitis as well. If the rash continues to itch, or spreads you should contact your doctor.
