Possible broken foot. xray done 12 hrs after.told we'll find out results in 3 to 5 days. is it harmful to leave injury untreated for so long? only compression sleeve sock given. foot shows bruising and non weight bearing. using crutches.

Broken Bones: Without knowing the results of the radiographs, it is hard to advise you. We're use to virtually immediate results here in the US, not 3 to 5 days. I suggest you follow your son's physician's recommendations.

Yes: Sometimes a bone fracture takes a week to show up on an X-ray. If it still hurts at that time, get a new X-ray.

On 11/4 I was diagnosed with broken vein/vessel on top of foot after a sudden knot and bruising. Busing is fading knot is there. Was told X-ray was normal, just "non-specific soft tissue prominence lateral to 5th metatarsal. Could this be a sarcoma?
