Ask the prescriber: What is normal for one person may not be normal for another person. What is normal under one set of circumstances may not be normal under another set. If taking anti-anxiety medication to decrease symptoms such as high heart rate, then having a calmer heart rate should mean the drug is working. The prescriber can help, as he knows the whole story of the patient.
