URI: This is most likely a viral upper respiratory tract infection that usually runs its course in a week. Treatment at this time would be resting, drinking adequate fluids and taking Tylenol as needed. To relieve nasal congestion, use nasal decongestant spray and follow directions. Occasionally a secondary bacterial sinus or bronchial infection follows and then need to see MD arises.
