I had spotting for 4 days, then a period for about 2 1/2 weeks, then spotting for a few days. almost a week later, i started spotting again for about 4 days, then bleeding like a period. its been almost a week and im still consistently bleeding.

Abnormal bleeding ?: Bleeding as described may indicate a pregnancy outside the uterus, so obtain a serum HCG test to be certain. There are other causes of irregular bleeding, so even if the test is negative, see your gyn physician who may do a pelvic ultrasound to determine the cause.

Menometrorrhagia: Menometrorrhagia is what you have irregular and excessive bleeding. Cause can be hormonal, growths such as fibroids or polyps, adenomyosis, endometriosis, lack of ovulation or blood clotting disorders.
