How does the influenza virus subtype h5n1 spread from animals to humans?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bird flu H5N1: Influenza or 'the flu' is typically spread by droplets. Flu actually comes from birds, but other animals can be the hosts too. H5N1 is very dangerous because it's found in birds, and has increasingly jumped to humans. Mostly this has virus has jumped from birds to humans via very close contact with the birds (bird markets, handling sick birds). Luckily H5N1 hasn't (yet) become a human virus.
