Many possibilities: If it is not constipation (collection of stool in the left lower abdomen) that goes away with bowel movements, then one's primary care doctor can check to see what the problem might be. The doctor can check to see if there is a lump of some kind in the abdomen or pelvis. Sometimes movement is just intestines moving food or poop along, while other times stool tests or ultrasound imaging are needed.
