Evaluation: Repeat the temperature reading and monitor for fever. If your child has a forceful cough, a visit is indicated. A mild viral illness will resolve within two weeks and is not associated with a prolonged cough or fever. Provide fluids, treat fever and use nasal saline for nasal congestion. Please see your pediatrician.
