Back and knee pain. : Not uncommon to be associated. Sciatic pain can be associated with disc disease, radicular pain or irritation of nerve roots at exit from back or pain created by spasm of pyriformis muscle. Likewise knee pain can be associated with referred pain to low back. Modifiable risk factors include maintaining ideal body weight. BMI greater than 27 associated with back pain and knee pain.
