Skin cancer : The timing of the development of skin cancer is variable. In many cases there is a considerable lag time (years) from sun exposure in childhood to the development of skin cancer in adulthood. In other cases a skin cancer may develop over months . In any case, a dermatologist should evaluate any suspicious skin lesions.

Varies: Each cancer is unique. Some cancer cells have the ability to develop very quickly while others grow much slower.
