Tomorrow--cancer port placement: i hear surgery takes about 10 minutes when placed under the skin. is it true and is it a big operation like whipple?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cancer port placemen: It depends on the access site of the port. In the subclavian vein just under the collarbone it is a minor procedure to insert an IV line and make a small pocket for the port. Access sites in the abdomen are a little more complicated and may require guidance with fluoroscopy or CT.
