Taper: Ask your prescribing MD to guide you in a slow tapering schedule, if he/she thinks it's appropriate to wean off Prozac. A slow taper would be something like removing 5 mgs or 10mgs each week. A faster taper would be removing 5 mgs daily for a week, and then 10 mgs daily if all goes well, etc.

Not hard: Prozac is very long acting so it actually self tapers . Generally just stopping is the best choice and it will gradually leave you body over a 5-6week period, Can take a few months to actually notice a change if recurrent symptoms are going to occur , Best Wishes
