Likely bled: Trauma to that area likely abraded the skin & triggered some minor blood loss at the site. It will likely self heal if kept clean. You may want to provide some guidance to your BF on what you don't want to happen.

Fingering & blood: If the "fingering through the pants" was "rough" then there may have been an abrasion of the vulva or labia resulting in the spot of red bleeding. If it persists, see a GYN MD for confirmation and Rx.
