Depends on details: Vaccinated? Unfortunately some people who get the flu vaccine don't make enough protective antibodies, and still catch the flu. One's doctor's advice upon diagnosing "uncomplicated" flu symptoms present for 3 or more days, may be to "wait it out," which means fever is not a serious problem if other flu symptoms are not too bad. If worried, one's doctor can recheck to see how things are going.

Relieve symptoms: The symptoms may be relieved by rest, fluids and treating fever. If you have worsening fever, chills or prolonged cough, please see your pediatrician.
