Usually ECP: After the sperm is already in the vagina, a woman can use an Emergency Contraceptive Pill (over-the-counter in the US, and easily available) within 48 hours. If past that point, she can contact her Ob-Gyn or primary care provider about a prescription-only ECP or get an IUD placed. Also, if a woman has perfectly regular periods, she can calculate to figure out if she is fertile this whole episode.
