Mysterious dot?: A small, mysterious black dot on the skin of a college-aged person's thumb is usually one of those wait-and-see situations. It could be a new mole, which will not peel away. It could be temporary (for whatever reason) and thus peel away as the upper layers of skin age and shed. A video consultation on HealthTap can help figure this out.
