A member asked:

A mildly painful lump in area above clitoris. could it be something serious? (no sexual intercourse beforehand)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can evaluate: Genital lumps or bumps are hard to describe in words, and even harder to visualize. A primary care doctor or an Ob-Gyn can look to see what it might be. Possibilities include an inflamed or infected gland, a herpes sore (they hurt), some other STD, etc... If it is a bacterial infection, antibiotics can help. If it is viral like herpes, then anti-virals like Valtrex (valacyclovir) may be help.
