Maybe: Fibromyalgia does seem to run in families and is significantly more common in women however no genetic link has been proven. Fibromyalgia can be reduced significantly with medicines and other interventions but still seems to periodically flare up even in thebest case.

Yes: Inherited aspect of fibromyalgia (fm) is joint hypermobility syndrome (jhs). This trait mostly transcends female line & imbues greater ligament flexibility. Bristol criteria enables diagnosis. Women with jhs experience easy childbirth, pmd, & are prone to fm if become deconditioned and/or mechanically injured; especially injury & loosening of sacroiliac joint.
