Head pain : More details are needed from a physical examination and full history. The side of the temple has a muscle under the scalp. A muscle in the neck (SCM sternocleidomastoid) and the TMJ can refer pain to the temple. The SCM is used to turn the neck and when inflamed can send pain to the temple.
