A member asked:

I just got a henna tattoo at the mall of america, and it is now red, sort of swelling, and is really painful, should i see a doctor for it or will that go away on its own?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

About henna: If there is a painful or burning reaction, one can see her primary care doctor (or the ER if one's doctor is not available now) for an evaluation. The UK NHS information page may help both the doctor and patient decide what to do about the henna reaction: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-body/black-henna-neutral-henna-ppd-dangers/
