Thoughts: Some infants of either gender may have residual estrogen effect left over from hormone mom shared with the fetus during pregnancy. One or both breasts may have a mild swelling that emerges in the weeks after birth & usually subsides over time. Rarely manipulation at the site can allow germs to enter & trigger an abscess, which is a good reason to leave the area alone. Discuss with her doc.
