A member asked:

Can taking a pregnancy test with hematuria result in a false-positive?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tests are accurate: Pregnancy tests (blood or urine) are very accurate and not affected by hematuria, foods, herbs, common illnesses, STD's, vaginal spotting, or medications. A test gives a reliable result by 3 weeks after sex. Note that hematuria (blood in urine) is a sign or symptom of another disorder. That means hematuria is not the disorder, but rather some disorder is causing the hematuria.
