Is it safe to put vicks vaporub on a cotton wool piece and put inside your ear while 6 weeks pregnant?

But why ???: The chemicals in that rub will not be absorbed to the point they would affect the baby. However, I don't see the point. I see no benefit to anyone from placing that material inside the ear canal for any reason.
