I got an iud 6 months ago. i thought my period was over and i had intercourse but now im bleeding rather heavily and am cramping. should i be worried my iud perforated my uterus if i can still feel my strings?

Bleeding can : occur, with some IUD types, more than others. Copper IUD's bleed more than Progestin IUD's. If the string is able to be felt, less likely for perforation issues. Discuss with your doctor for testing, treatment, or ultrasound.
