Swollen gums: And gingival inflammation has been associated with heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, low birth weight, premature delivery, etc. Usual culprit is bacterial infection, Gingivitis. If treated early is entirely reversible. See your Dentist. Depending on severity, referral to a periodontist may be in order.
