His doctor can check: A 7-month-old with fever usually gets an exam. The simple way to look at it is: if a baby is happy and behaving normally, then any temperature <100 F is ok. That means call any temperature a fever if is 100 F or more. That said, if a baby is newly unhappy (fussing a lot) or starts behaving oddly, then his doctor should be called regardless of what the temperature is.
