A member asked:

Does rest make a cold milder and end faster?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Likely no difference: People with mild cold symptoms, with or without mild fever, usually go to their neighborhood drug store and buy some Tylenol (acetaminophen), Motrin, or Advil for fever and aches. Resting may or may not decrease symptoms, but too much bedrest and inactivity can make a person weaker. Vigorous activity or excess exercise can make symptoms worse due to heavy breathing required of such overactivity.
