Worrisome: Is he breathing ???? Alcohol is a toxic agent that can depress the nervous system similar to general anesthesia. In the worst case scenery it can do so to the point they quit breathing and die. If he is indeed passed out he may be to a point where hospital based monitoring is needed to be sure he has a chance to wake up.
