A 49-year-old member asked:

When is the fetus considered properly developed?

1 doctor answer1 doctor weighed in
Dr. James Ferguson
Pediatrics 47 years experience
Confusing question: There are expected & proper developmental features at every week during fetal development. There can also be evidence of delays or improper development at any specific point. Most organ systems are visibly normal by 12 weeks, but additional brain, lung and other system development continues up to and past delivery.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
