A member asked:

Hows that for laparoscopic surgery a little over one week ago. have some petechiae/ dark red dots spread out) on my abdomen.not concentrated in one area (do not blanch at all). is this normal or concerning?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not unusual: Petecchiae and ecchymosis don't blanch. These are signs of bleeding into the skin These on the abdominal wall are common soon after abdominal laparoscopic surgery and should resolve in 7-10 days. New areas of involvement or incisional abnormalities warrant a call to the surgeon.
