A member asked:

Received a positive hsv2 igg test at 1.1, but i keep finding material saying a low positive needs a second test to verify if its correct ? looking for clarification

Can repeat, but...: If you test people who are more likely to have the disease, false positives are less likely. If you test people who probably don't have the disease, false positives are more likely. If the lab has 1.11 as the lowest positive, then 1.12 shouldn't be called a positive if a person is at very low risk for the disease, and vice versa 1.12 may be truly positive if a person is likely to have the disease.
