A member asked:

I am experiencing mild chest pain and it feels like a stitch in my left lung area. sharp shooting pains when i breathe sometimes. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can evaluate: Random intermittent brief chest pains means one should talk with her doctor. In young adults, chest pain could very rarely be a heart attack. It more likely is something such as costochondritis (inflamed rib cartilage), pleurisy, myocarditis, pericarditis, other heart symptoms, or anxiety attack symptoms. If a person is not able to contact her primary care doctor, the ER doctor can evaluate.
