A member asked:

I was diagnosed with bronchitis, was prescribed a course of antibiotics, and have taken various other medications; however, i feel that the flu-like symptoms have returned. i haven't had time to rest due to work and busy weekends.

One of three things: After treatment of a bacterial bronchitis or bacterial pneumonia, the return of symptoms means either: a relapse of the infection has occurred (it never fully resolved), a recurrence (it resolved but the illness is happening again), or a new illness with similar symptoms has begun. One's primary care doctor (presumably the prior treating doctor) can reevaluate to see what is going on.

Fever?: Please drink fluids, rest and see your physician. Viral illnesses or secondary bacterial infection may be the underlying cause.
