One of three things: After treatment of a bacterial bronchitis or bacterial pneumonia, the return of symptoms means either: a relapse of the infection has occurred (it never fully resolved), a recurrence (it resolved but the illness is happening again), or a new illness with similar symptoms has begun. One's primary care doctor (presumably the prior treating doctor) can reevaluate to see what is going on.
