9 yo has pain when swallowing for 6 days no other symptoms throat is not red, no fever, can it be strep?

Possibly...: Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies, irritants, or acid reflux. Usually, one sees his or her pediatrician if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (as in this case). Acetaminophen or ibuprofen can decrease pain temporarily.

Tea and Honey: Local irritation may be one cause. Strep and Flu infections usually are associated with fever. Tea and honey, warm soup and identification of possible triggers such as smoke suggested. Please follow up with your Pediatrician.
