A member asked:

My daughter has a headache since last week thursday. i took her to casualty on sunday and the drip relieved her pain for about an hour. she was referred to an ent for sinus but he referred her to a neurologist who prescribed trepiline. still has a he?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dr. can reevaluate: Her neurologist and primary care doctors can reevaluate her headache and maybe add or alter treatment. Some medicines are "preventive", and others stop pain after a headache starts. Headaches are very common, and have many causes. Some are migraines and others are tension headaches. Emergencies include having a "worst headache ever." Imaging studies may be needed. A week seems like a long time.
