Concerning symptoms: You don’t mention whether you have type I or type II diabetes - that makes a difference. Either way, as you start to make changes in your lifestyle to address this condition you need to stay aware of symptoms. What you describe could need medical attention. Go see your doctor.

Hard to say!: You don't say how long you have been sick with these symptoms, or what medicines you are taking. Abdominal pain and joint swelling in anyone, but especially a person with diabetes, is very worrying! Call or see your doctor today, or go to an Emergency Room now.
